For the first time, BOMAG showcased a concept study of its battery-operated single drum roller at Bauma, marking a significant step in sustainable construction technology. The new electrically powered roller, BW 177 DH e, weighs seven tons and is comparable to the conventionally driven BW 177 DH model.
The machine is equipped with a smooth drum, making it ideal for compacting crushed rock, gravel, and sand. Impressively, it offers an eight-hour runtime, meeting the demands of a full workday on-site. Charging is made simple via a CCS connector at a standard wallbox.
This innovation is part of BOMAG’s growing e-PERFORMANCE portfolio, which focuses on battery-electric solutions that match the capabilities of traditional equipment while significantly reducing CO2 emissions on construction sites.
