SMAG and IVECO unveil a state-of-the-art facility in Dubai Industrial City, featuring round-the-clock servicing, parts support, and pre-owned vehicle sales to meet the UAE’s growing fleet needs.
In a move to reinforce its operations in the UAE, IVECO and its local partner Saeed Mohammed Al Ghandi & Sons (SMAG) have officially opened a state-of-the-art facility in Dubai Industrial City. The new premises include a fully air-conditioned workshop, a parts sales and warehouse facility, and an IVECO Certified Pre-Owned sales center, positioning SMAG to offer enhanced service and support to the UAE’s growing commercial vehicle market.
The event, which attracted over 80 guests, including key representatives from the Ministry of Transport, local authorities, fleet customers, and the press, also saw IVECO and SMAG showcase the full range of IVECO vehicles available for the UAE market.
Among the vehicles presented were the heavy-duty IVECO T-Way 6×4 Rigid truck, featuring a robust construction series chassis, and the IVECO S-Way 4×2 tractor head. The medium-duty Eurocargo was represented by both 4×2 on-road and 4×4 off-road versions, while the light-duty range featured the The Daily Hi-Matic, a versatile 5.2-tonne GVW vehicle suited for urban operations.
Strategic Location
The Dubai Industrial City facility, chosen for its strategic location within the logistics hub of the UAE, allows SMAG to position itself within close proximity to major transportation routes, Jebel Ali Port, and the upcoming new airport.
“We are one of the first major truck distributors to strategically position ourselves within the logistics hub of Dubai Industrial City,” says Ewan Byrne, General Manager of SMAG, during the opening. “We have a lot of synergies with other parts of our Automotive group including Oman Transport and with excellent road links to all major routes, relatively close to Jebel Ali Port and with the development of the new airport, it made perfect sense to increase the capability of SMAG & IVECO within the region.”
SMAG will continue operating its existing location in Ras Al Khor, transforming it into a specialized Daily van center, exclusively focused on IVECO’s renowned light vehicle range. This division will complement the new Dubai Industrial City facility, which will cater to a full lineup of IVECO vehicles.
24/7 Fleet Support
A major highlight of the new premises is the 24/7 operational workshop, designed to provide uninterrupted support to customers. Ewan Byrne emphasizes: “Our workshops and Parts departments have been developed to ensure we have created a capability to offer a full 24/7 365 days a year total fleet support operation. With downtime and vehicle availability being top priority for many operators, having servicing and maintenance work completed out of hours was an essential offering in our new location.”
The new facility also aims to set a high standard for parts availability. “We pride ourselves on our parts availability rates,” says Byrne. “When we don’t have it, we can source it quickly through IVECO parts global network.”

Silvia Quaglia, IVECO’s AME Network Development representative, highlighted the importance of the new premises in strengthening customer support. “The opening of this facility is a significant milestone for both SMAG and IVECO. We are focused on ensuring the best after-sales coverage for our customers, and this new workshop, open 24/7, guarantees that our customers can maintain and repair their vehicles at any time.”
